Forest of balloons and carpeted grass~

I wanted to share this cool book "The Jolly Postman". I remember as a child being read this book and thinking it was the most coolest thing ever because they would have different letters that were "hand written" and that you can take out of the book to read. If I recall it was the postman delivering mail to different fairy tale characters and their mail.

WOOMWOOMWOOM

I wonder if that would be the sound a glowing balloon would make?

DRIVE

The nice thing about sitting in traffic (silver lining people silver lining) is you get alot of time to think about things and while listening to the radio and wanting to post a new image I thought of a image and created it with the use of some stock images:

Landscape

girl with watering can

Street light
and sitting in traffic, imagination, ooh and radio songs.

It took a couple of days to create and came out somewhat like I imagined:

Random but some youtube music for you:
I love the instrumental portion :)

RANDOM

I cleaned my desk and files to find these :)

This photo really happened! My neighbor's dog was chasing this squirrel for quite a while, I had to go so couldn't stay to see what happened, but I heard the doggy didn't catch it. quite hilarious how fast that squirrel was and how dedicated the dog was to chasing it. haha watched "Up" before? "Squirrel! Squirrel!" hahaha....

Since this is a random post I thought I would include some other random information
:{) <---mustache smiling man!
:{ <---just mustache man!
:] <---happy face variation!

Fall/winter foods/drinks that are great:

Pumkin pie--I hate pies because the filling is too much (mostly eat crust and some insides) but ooh pumkin pies are not too sweet so they are so delicious.

Crab apples-- or ju ju bee or dates before the wrinkles set in? : are yummy.

Mandarins: mmm they are so good.

Hot chocolate: on a rainy day, cozy in bed without having to go to work. ahh.

ALTERNATIVE

Alternate ring light or soft box with no purchase! For those that just don't want to carry all the equipment.
Sorry for the crude drawing but basically this allows for nice soft even lighting to evenly light the subject for flattering look (e.g. reducing lines and facial flaws) Check out the diagram below!

Here are some sample photos. Not the most artistic but just a sample for what the lighting would look like.

CCCCCCCCCC

color composition cohesion cool cat corner in california crazy candy car
ok trying to see how many C's I can add...haha
I wanted to thank the wonderful volunteer submittal for critique! Just a disclaimer that the following is purely my humble opinion and I myself have many errors as well so please play nice and don't bash me, plus art is subjective etcetera, so I'll stop talking and move forward:

Color: the tones are dead on and I love the warm cast of the tree with the moss in the photo.
Composition: The use of the trunk leading the eye, framing the subject and using a large aperture to focus on only the subject provides for a very well composed photo. I really love the green background to help the squirrel pop even further in the photograph.
Here comes the total subjective side, while this is a great photograph, I would recommend a bit more pop to the photo with contrast to give it a bit more edge. I really like that it tells a story showing the tree trunk, the squirrel, that he/she is surrounded by greenery enjoying his food and it looks like carefully eyeing the photographer!

Color: Again great color, and the composition is great with a nice wide aperture. I give major points to capturing a sharp photo of a dog because they move so much! I do wish though that there was some context with this photo on what the dog is looking at though possibly the photographer has one and this one was just submitted. Portrait wise, it is a nice photo! :)

EDIT, just a extra link, but found a site that sells really cool cheap ties! I personally like the hunter green one, wow unique! I've not purchased personally from this person but from 125 feedback it was all positive on the site. Purchase at own risk but nice ties!

PALACE

Awhile back I got a chance to visit the Palace of Fine Arts to take some photographs and realized I didn't post them yet! haha I guess it's my "emergency" stash when my shooting photographs are at a low I can use them for a blog post. I have recently been quite busy to shoot photographs but I have some ideas brewing in my head, it's just the energy and time to try and do it. Okay enough talking, here be the pictures:

Hi again, surprise! More talking! yay! :) So P asked a great question about post processing (which is basically work done (typically Photoshop) on the photographs after they have been taken) and whether I do it for all photos or not. In short, yes Photoshop work is done with the goal in hopefully trying to enhance the look and mood of what has been taken in the camera. The range of different looks achieved on the camera itself vary from what lens is used, lighting, angle of light, model, time of day, environment, aperture, shutter speed, composition and many other variables. For myself, these all play into the characteristics of a photograph and the desired result. Hope this provided some information :)

The flowers are jasmine which smell so wonderful and sweet!

Remember how when you were a kid and imagination was whatever you could dream up?

BALLOON

Practicing more off camera lighting, this evolved from an original idea that I had that ehh kinda worked but I didn't like the results too much so it went to this:

© Y (spriteyr)

Let's get water balloons and do this thing! WOW! Okay who is willing to get water balloon to the face? That's amazing :D

Speaking of balloons
"UP" best pixar movie ever! I loved it, what a beautiful storyline :)

NEITHER

Hello! Neither here nor there. Practicing off camera lighting. I do love how off camera lighting provides a crisp sharpness to detail in photographs.
Technical note: used a off camera flash shoot through white umbrella overhead. Location, camera right above the head.
It's just a coincidence but I like how the jasmine flowers leads trails towards the light. :)

LARGER

How to post photos on blogger--bigger!
DISCLAIMER: REMEMBER do these steps at your own risk as I don't fully recall how I did these on my site?? Just played with some of the html and tips from others...I would also strongly recommend doing the "preview" option when messing with html to see what happens when you touch some of the html codes before actually executing the change incase you end up doing something funky which I may not be able to aid you with!

So if I remember correctly

First the easy part, go to the layout section and there are boxes where it's designated for header, and text, profile column and stuff correct? I moved the profile column and other stuff to the bottom of my page. Basically just so that only my blog entries take up the entire width of the blog.

Ok the next part is a bit tricky:

On the dashboard
I clicked on
Layout than edit html

TIP: use ctrl+F to find the text within the html box I mention below:
within the "edit html" box there should be something that describes the body of the blog which I believe is called "#main-wrapper"(use ctrl F to find this term) I changed the number value next to this to "800" I don't remember what it was before. (again not sure if this is right, but it sounds right...).

Here is where I clicked preview not save, not ok to make sure things didn't look wierd.

If the page looks normal and nothing funky going on, then the page should be set up well.

let's move on to a test blog entry.

Create a new blog entry and upload a photo. Then publish it. Than go back to edit that entry. There is a tab called "edit html" at the top of your blog entry box. Go to that. You will find a string of text with something that mentions width with some value and height with some value. Erase that portion of the html. Finally look a little bit more further and you will see a text with "s400" change it to "s800" than ta dah! it will make pictures bigger.

haha confused? Well I think if you do it step by step it should work. Otherwise I claim no responsibility bla bla bla etcetera, don't blame me, disclaimer, this is just my personal experience of a person getting tidbits of html advise here and there putting it together on a blog, no need to follow this...and things of that nature.

Random items:

Some other things, so I have this cold that just won't go away for quite a while. And so I was talking to someone how I caught the cold and the person says why did you catch it? You should have let it go. haha love that cute sense of humor. Anyways, so the person is like oh there is this product where it looks like a teapot. And you get lukewarm water and I think he said mix with some herbal thing it comes with and put it in the teapot. Than, you pour it in your NOSE. And I was thinking, huh? haha joking around again eh? No, no, he was serious.
I think I'll blow my nose the old fashion way. I just remember that when you go underwater the wrong way and water goes up your nose and it hurts...but maybe the herbal part of this liquid thing makes it not hurt?

from google images:

And also I saw some cute bunny photos from google images: so so cute!

HEEHEEHOHO

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
Some new music that's pretty darn good.
Halflight

I've noticed that somehow my recent pics have somehow been coming up as really moody and dark. I really don't mean them to be that way but sometimes I have an idea in my head and as I am doing photoshop the picture takes a life of its own. I know it's like what are you talking about? You are the one that controls it! But somehow one does a little modification there to make a certain part of the picture look nice, than I need to add something else into complement that, etcetera and kablamoh that's what happens!
So wow that entire paragraph was alot of jibber jabber. My apologies. In anycase here is a happy picture (which I modified a bit more to I hope make it happier) I found in my archives while cleaning up the files. I believe it was taken early last year.

And early THIS year, I was with a bunch of friends and we made the things below! Hours and hours of spoon filling, make sticky side, seal. Oh and I did it and did it till my fingers couldn't close even and was seeing white spots (haha ok kidding with this one). We were eating some of them while making it so had energy and lots of fun! :) Ooh and it taste really great with the traditional potsticker soysauce and adding the rooster hot sauce. Mmm soooooo delicious!

MORNINGS

Apparently I can't think that well in the morning. At least early in the morning. I had a bunch of things to say yesterday but can't think of it so yes bla blappity blah.
So I am truly loving digital art, because I can just think of any crazy idea and stitch crazy things together. The piece below is stock photo of jellyfish, landscape and girl.

On another note, I was thinking of doing a entry describing different types of guys (similar to the girl entry of cute, hot, pretty) but I realized my descriptions for things aren't that great and kinda lazy to post pictures of folks so-o just going to list it--I may update later and make it less sad.
By the way actually not attracted to these listed for the types but kinda what comes to mind.
Handsome: George Clooney, The guy who played James Bond before this current Bond. (Suave, can't imagine him without a suit, doesn't really know what he looks like in jeans?)

Pretty boy: Ashton Kutcher, Orlando Bloom, Darien from Sailor Moon! sorry had to throw that in there. (Even if they grow beards and wear grungy looking clothes, they still can't hide that pretty face)

Gorgeous: Daniel Henney, Eduardo Verastegui (Genetically blessed in every way)

Rugged: Russel Crowe, Hugh Jackman (Manly, looks good with stubble)

Loveable: John Cusack, Ewan Mcgregor (Huggable)

Man pretty: Matt Damon, David Beckham (A cross between manly rugged but got a nice dose of pretty boy mixed in)

Am I missing any other "types"? Feel free to add to the list and add opinions and types too! Granted not anyone can be designated into a certain category BUT, just thought I would write this up for your entertainment.

DIGITALART

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
Just found a blog entry I wanted to share about the diff types of beauty females have.
I think Drew Barrymore should be included in the cute section and Liv Tyler in the beautiful section.

If I am using the term correctly, digital art is supposed to be a composite of many different photographs some your own some by others (stock photos which are legal and ethical to use not other people’s photos that they deem as their own! NO!!! BAD! BAD!)
So yes a new year and this is my new photo! First time using stock photos to create an image. It’s fun but I think I still like photos that are all 100% from scratch. Additionally, I also like walks on the beach, reading a good book and taking pictures of beautiful people, who if interested, can check out my info price page at http://www.yunnainfo.blogspot.com/ pushy pushy, nudgy nudgy~ (notice how I just “slipped” this in…so slick ooh yeah ~feel free to insert eyes rolling)

By the way speaking of walks on the beach, have you ever tried running where the waves break onto the beach like those “Baywatch” lifeguards (remember Baywatch? Yeah I actually liked that show as a teen and for the stories I don’t think dudes in swimsuits appeal to women as much as women in swimsuits appeal to guys) Anyways, it feels weird right? Because you are trying to run straight but the waves keep pushing you to the side.
So in summary run on the beach because people are into that.

COMPOSITE

Typical definition when used in the photo world is in layman’s term a bunch of photos placed together to make a final piece. The following photo was too many to count. I don’t recall…the number of photographs taken was even more so. The suffering and pain was a slight notch more. What was composited you say? The grass and the rose petals. Oh the rose petals. It sounds like a great idea, ooh have raining rose petals, looks pretty in my imagination, why not make it real.
So I enthusiatically threw rose petals in the air, over and over and over and over again and again and again. Since I was working with only myself, I set the timer on the camera and threw the petals just when I thought the shutter of the camera would click. Many times I would get very few petals in the shot. So of course, I would then each time pick up the petals and throw again, and again and again. Throw, throw, throw, pickup pickup pickup.
Halfway through when I was probably seeing spots of white and feeling slightly nauseas from all the throwing and picking upping, I decided against common sense that I couldn’t quit since I went this far.
So I went the rest of the way feeling sick and gross and getting that jelly like weak feeling in the legs. Also the wind was blowing that day which I guess did help for getting some shots of the petals in the air but also threw the rose petals all over the area and I had to pick up each one at the end since they were fake and would not decomposite so I couldn't let them be.
So-o I kinda got the picture I was imagining but I had 2-3 days of bowl legged walking. Literally. People at work were wondering why I was walking so wierd.

In summary, pick up rose petals can give one a major workout! (remember the card game pick up 52? If you don't ask me sometime and I'll show ya muahaha)

NAPA

Napa the land of wine and food~ not much of a wine fan but I was looking forward to the awesome food folks kept talking about in napa. So-o going a couple times I've just been blindly looking for resturants and it's been hit and miss...but this time, every single location we hit was a yum to the tum. In honesty though, my pictures don't have too much to do with the food because I was so busy eating it, I didn't really have much thought to taking pics of it...but anyways on with the pictures:
The light in napa when I went was so unbelieveably beautiful and soft practically all day! How is that possible?? This is the field at Mondavi winery:One of their select wines with a beautiful leaf (the leaf was $25! wow pricy but gorgeous)
Their logo I think~
Then there was a visit to opus one.
The view from the terrace of Opus, the picture doesn't do it justice though:

Ok I did finally after devouring all the food from breakfast lunch and a fab french dinner got to pause and think, forgot to take picture of food! aiee! Well, at the least I did get to take pictures of the beautiful and delicious dessert. Don't remember the names of these but that is caramelized sugar on top of the banana which was my favorite part of the dessert. Yumm crispy, soft, sweet, delicious all at the same time.
This was really really good, cake with persimmon in it. mmmmm....
Sme fall colors:
Raven on a golf course lawn hanging out:
Of course the ever famous vineyards:

And some decor at a wine tasting venue.
